Transportation is one of our most basic human needs. Without it, we cannot imagine our life.
Transportation is the act of moving something from one place to another. A well known and co-
ordinated transport system is very important for the sustained economic growth of a country.
Transportation in India has grown over the years. There are several modes of transport like rail,
road, water and air transport. The Ministry of Shipping, Road Transport and Highways have led to
the implementation of policies and programmes. These programs are used for the development
of various modes of transport.
