Which state receives the highest
rainfall during winters?

Rainy Season

Rainy season starts in June and extends till the end of

October. In some parts of our country rainy season

starts from July. During this season the cold winds blow

from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal towards

the land. These winds are known as monsoon winds.

These winds bring along heavy rainfall. Many water

bodies are dependent on these winds for water. When

it rains, some of the water moves into the ground. This

is known as underground water. The amount of                       Rainy season
rainfall varies from place to place. There are some

places like- the desert region which receive less rainfall. While there are some places like-

Meghalaya which receive heavy rainfall. meghalaya is the wettest region in the world. In some

places, very heavy rainfall brings floods which may cause damage.

Spring and Autumn Seasons

After the winters and before the summers the
weather becomes pleasant. This weather is
known as spring season. This season is
neither too hot nor too cold. It has a
moderate climate all the time. Many new
leaves and flowers bloom in this season.
Autumn season comes before the winter
season. This weather is cool and pleasant.
The old leaves fall off during this season.
