Climate is affected by the temperature of that place, amount of rainfall it receives, direction of the
wind and distance of the place from the equator. The places that are near the sea receive more
rainfall than those areas which are far from sea. Mountain regions are very cold as the mountains

Different Seasons in India

There are three main seasons in India namely - Summer, Winter and Rainy Seasons. There are
other seasons also namely - Spring and Autumn Seasons.

Summer Season

The summer season starts from the mid of March and extends Hot summer season
till the end of June. This season is hot and the temperature is
high. The days are longer than the nights in summer season.
During this season every part of India except the mountains
have hot and dry weather. The temperature is high in March
but as the days pass the temperature becomes very high.
Warm winds known as loo blow along with dust storms.
The Southern part of India is surrounded by the sea on three
sides. Hence, the summers are less hot in this region. The cool
breeze from the sea makes the climate moderate in this
region. The hill stations have pleasant climate during the
summer season.

Winter Season Winter season starts from the middle of November and extends
till the end of February. This is very cold season. December and
Cold winter season January are the coldest months of this season. The nights are
longer than the days in this season. The mountains are very cold
during winter season while other places are less cold.
During this season, strong winds known as western disturbances
cause light rainfall and snowfall in the mountainous regions. The
weather becomes very cold and fog appears.
