Types of teeth
We develop two sets of teeth during our life me.
1.Milk teeth
2.Permanent teeth

Milk teeth appear in a baby's mouth when it is a few months old. There are 20 milk
teeth in all.

Permanent teeth are the second set of teeth that appear to replace the milk teeth. An
adult has 32 permanent teeth. These last a life me if you take proper care of them,
and take a diet rich in calcium and phosphorus.

Teeth are of four kinds. The grinders in our mouth are characteris c of all adult
mammals.

Looking a er the tongue and teeth
Brush your teeth and clean your tongue in the morning and at night. Do not eat
something very hot or you may burn your tongue.
Replace your toothbrush every two months. If you see a cavity or feel a sharp pain
while ea ng an ice-cream or sweets, see a den st immediately. Go for a dental check-
up every six months.
