Earth’s Revolu on

The movement of the Earth around the Sun in a fixed orbit is called as revolving. One
full orbit around the sun is one revolu on. The Earth takes 365 days or 1 year to
complete one revolu on. The Earth revolves around the Sun because of gravity. The
Earth really rotates 365 ¼ mes during each revolu on. The calendar always has 365
days, a er every 4 years, the earth has made one extra rota on. How ever, one extra
day is added to the month of February once in every four years forming a leap year
with 366 days.

 Let’s
        Revise

 The Solar System consists of the sun, the moon, all the stars, eight planets and comets.
 The Solar System is located in an outward spiral of the Milky Way galaxy.
 The sun is the centre of Solar System.
 The inner solar system contains Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars.
 The outer solar system contains Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune.
 The rotation is what causes the change from day to night.
 The movement of the earth around the sun in a fixed orbit is called as revolution of the earth.
