Earth’s Revolu on
The movement of the Earth around the Sun in a fixed orbit is called as revolving. One
full orbit around the sun is one revolu on. The Earth takes 365 days or 1 year to
complete one revolu on. The Earth revolves around the Sun because of gravity. The
Earth really rotates 365 ¼ mes during each revolu on. The calendar always has 365
days, a er every 4 years, the earth has made one extra rota on. How ever, one extra
day is added to the month of February once in every four years forming a leap year
with 366 days.
Let’s
Revise
The Solar System consists of the sun, the moon, all the stars, eight planets and comets.
The Solar System is located in an outward spiral of the Milky Way galaxy.
The sun is the centre of Solar System.
The inner solar system contains Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars.
The outer solar system contains Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune.
The rotation is what causes the change from day to night.
The movement of the earth around the sun in a fixed orbit is called as revolution of the earth.
