Plants in Areas of Heavy Rainfall

There are some plants that grow in areas that receive heavy rainfall. The plants
growing in these areas have green leaves throughout the year. They are known as
evergreen trees. The rubber and teak trees are the two examples of desert plants.

Plants in Marshy Areas

There are some areas where soil is very
sticky. These areas are known as marshy
areas. These areas have clayey wet soil
which doesn’t allow water to drain from it.
The roots of plants come out of the soil and
act as breathing roots. The plants that grow
here are mangroves.

Trees like coconut grow in coastal areas. Such trees can survive in salty water.
