        Let’s Start Learning

Our home planet - earth, the sun, the moon, stars etc. are the parts of our Solar
System. Come and let us read about our Solar System.

The Solar System

Our Solar System consists of the sun, the moon, all the stars, eight major planets,
asteroids and comets. It is located in an outward spiral of the Milky Way galaxy. The
Solar System is elliptical in shape. The sun is the centre of Solar System. All the eight
planets revolve around the Solar System in their orbits. The Solar System can be
divided into two parts: Inner Solar System and outer Solar System
The inner solar system contains Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars. These four planets
are close to the Sun. The outer solar system contains Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and
Neptune.

Which planet is closest to the Sun?

                                                                             Our Solar System
About 99.86 percent of the mass of the Solar System is made up of the Sun.
