Living things have the ability to reproduce.
When living things reproduce, they make new
living things. This is true even of the simplest
microorganisms, which may reproduce by
simply dividing into two parts. Each new part is
able to move, feed, grow, and perform the
other func ons of living. Animals and plants
reproduce to create offspring. Reproduc on is
the process of one or more living things
crea ng other living things. Humans reproduce crea ng babies. A female and a male
dog reproduce, crea ng puppies.
Animals produce their own kinds by different ways.
Animals like birds, fish, rep les and insects lay eggs.
Each egg hatches into a young. Most plants
reproduce by seeds. Each seed contains a baby
plant inside it. These baby plants grow into a new
plant. Some plants reproduce with the help of their
stems or leaves or roots.
Living Things Respond
All living things respond to the environment around them. Most living have sense
organs like eyes, nose, ears, tongue and skin to respond the environment around
them.
What happens when you touch hot or cold objects?
You take your hand away from the object. It happens this because you have five sense
organs such as eyes, ears, nose, tongue and skin. A rat jumps if you prick a needle to it.
