Chapter 1 Change In Family
Pree was looking at the old photographs of her family
during her holidays. She understood that she was not born at
that me because she saw a photograph where her father,
aunt and grandparents were looking much younger. She
could not understand why her mother was not there. On
asking, her mother explained that she was living with her
parents and brother at her nana's house and a er marrying
her father, she came to live in their house. Now she
understood why her aunt was not present in the recent
family picture. She had moved out of the house to live with
her husband a er marriage. But her baby sister was there!
Families change in size when a baby is born or when new members join the family
through marriage.
Where do babies come from?
Babies grow in the mother and babies are part of their mothers and there is a special
bond between mother and child. Have you ever no ced that your mother knows that
you are unhappy or unwell even before you tell her? This is the special bond of
mother and child.
Where does a ki en or a puppy come from?
Like humans, animals also give birth to babies and
young ones. They look a er their li le ones ll they
are able to feed themselves. You must have seen
calf drinking milk from the mother cow and a nest
with a pigeon si ng on the eggs and a er few
weeks you see fledglings in the nest. The birds
