Software

Computer is a machine that does not have its own intelligence. It works with the brain of the
humans. The humans give instructions to the computer to work the desired result with the
help of hardware and software. A computer gets all the instructions from the software to
perform various tasks. Software is the soul of the computer without which it cannot exist. A
computer without instructions is like a human without the brain. It requires set of instructions
given by the user to work on them. These sets of instructions are called programs. In general
term computer software is a collection of computer programs that performs some particular
task on a computer system like input, process and output. Software is that part of computer
which can't be touched or seen. Software is classified into two types.

1. System software 2. Application software

Some software help your computer to operate, they are known as system software. While
some other software help your machines to run the application, they are known as application
software.
