Cows and buffaloes have a strange habit.
They first swallow their food without chewing it. Later they bring it back to the mouth
and chew it properly. This is called chewing the cud.
Carnivorous animals are the meat ea ng animals and they have different type of
teeth. They have sharp front teeth in order to tear flesh of their prey. Tigers, lions,
crocodiles, dogs, cats are all carnivorous animals. To tear and pierce into the flesh,
they have four pointed canines. Then they have strong back teeth that help in
crushing the bones and flesh.
Snakes have teeth but they do not chew their food. They just swallow it. Lizards and
frogs do not have teeth. They swallow their food without chewing it and they have
long s cky dart-like tongues to catch flies and mosquitoes.
Omnivores
An omnivore is an animal that eats food from both plants and animals, which may
include eggs, insects, fungi and algae. Bears and crows are examples of omnivores.
Human beings are also omnivores.
